Beaches Around Malpais

If you are heading to Malpais for a vacation, you are in for a good time. Although the long, rocky stretch of Malpais beach usually comes first to mind, there are few other shores that you may like to visit in this area. 2. Playa Carmen – Essentially a beach for surfing, Playa Carmen lies between Malpais and Santa Teresa. The rip tides and beach breaks here are less vigorous than in other regions of Costa Rica and so even learners can enjoy some surfing here. But the waves do get intense as you move toward Santa Teresa in north. Book a vacation villa for a week and you can enjoy a blissful break here.
3. Manzanillo – If you prefer a beach vacation rental in a secluded and calm area near Malpais, this could be the best spot. Retaining its conspicuous backwater vibe, Manzanillo does not exhibit signs of development that are prominent in Malpaís and Santa Teresa. It is simply a small hamlet with few small bars and restaurants.
